Candy Chang, Teju Cole, and Buffy Sainte-Marie will give compelling talks and Mo Dhaliwal will guide you through the signature event of the 2015 Community Summit.
Cities reflect our human needs and values. Join us as we consider how the arts create, reveal, critique and enhance our urban centres and powerfully foster connection, incite social change and build capacity for healthy communities.
The night begins with a pre-show Street Meet & Greet featuring tents, food trucks, and live music.
“Our aim this year is to get our audience thinking about the power of cities through an engaging and interactive celebration of the important role that arts and culture play in our day-to-day urban lives.” says Shauna Sylvester, Executive Director of Public Square.
Dhaliwal says that the evening performance won’t be your typical speaker series and organizers are working hard to make it an engaging and fluid interactive experience. “The opportunity to have some great creative minds to offer observations on the city and expand the audiences perspective is an experience people shouldn’t miss.”
