Check out Vancouver’s Wheels and Heels Bike event this Friday

For those of you in Vancouver who may have noticed a few more bikes on the road lately, you aren’t seeing things!  June is Bike Month in Vancouver, and cycling related events are in full gear.

Wheels and Heels Bike Event

Photograph of one of Vancouver's separated bike lanesThis Friday, Vancouver City staff and members of the Vancouver Public Space Network (VPSN) are hosting a special bike event at Robson Square to promote cycling as an active mode of transportation.

If you’ll be in or around downtown, come out to talk to city staff, grab some great street food and check out the latest cycling gear from various merchants. VPSN will also be there with activities to explore what makes great public spaces!

There will be a draw to win a free bicycle.

For those cycling, there will be a bike valet on site.  Pedestrian are also well come!

2011 Bike Vancouver event
Friday June 17th, 10:00am to 2:00pm
The City of Vancouver’s Active Transportation Branch will be holding it’s annual ‘Bike Vancouver’ event downtown.

Come out and see what new bike and greenways have been added to the cycling network.
Location: 800 block Robson (between Hornby and Howe – the Art Gallery)
