BC Bound

March 31st, 2011

After almost a year of waiting, the date has finally been set.  Linda and I will be moving to Vancouver, British Columbia at the end of April.

As many of my regular readers know, I have been without a steady income for over a year now, and given the economic (and political) climate in the state, the job market doesn’t look good in the near or medium term.  So we have made the tough decision to pack things in and get a fresh start back in Canada.

We’ll be leaving Phoenix on April 29th and taking a few days to drive up to Vancouver with our two cats. While our route hasn’t been set yet, we are considering driving through salt Lake City, Portland and Seattle.

For my friends and readers in Phoenix, I hope you can make it to our farewell party on April 22nd.

Blogging over the next few months will be intermittent as a wrap up things in Phoenix and get settled in Vancouver (although I’ll be keeping up with my History of Urbanism and Friday 5 series. But rest assured, Yurbanism will live on in Vancouver, albeit with a slight shift in perspective ;-).

If you are interested in guest posting to help me fill the gaps during the transition, please let me know.

  1. I knew this was coming, and while I’m happy things are progressing for you I’m sorry to see you go. Been a pleasure, Yuri, and all the best in your travels up north!
