I’m Speaking at TEDxScottsdale!

March 31st, 2011

As regular readers of this site know, I’m a big fan of TED. Which is why I’m ecstatic that I’ve been asked to present at the inaugural TEDxScottsdale event on April 21st.

TEDx

The theme for the first TEDxScottsdale is urban sustainability—a subject right up my alley.  From the website:

What are we doing in this desert? How can the merely four million of us now here live here going forward? Why would we want to? What can we do about living here?

That’s a lot to cover in just 3 1/2 hours. Will all of it be dealt with then? No. Will each basic question be intriguingly asked and answered? Resoundingly yes!

Each of you live here. You invest a large part of your waking day paying for the quality of the rest of that day. Can that quality improve? Invest 3 /12 more hours hearing from some people trying to do just that.

While I’m still working on the presentation outline, you can be assured that I will be integrating topics covered on this site, particularly urbanism, placemaking and community building.

Tickets

The event will be held of April 21, 2011 from 6-9:30PM at ASU SkySong in Scottsdale. As it is the inaugural TEDxScottsdale, seating is limited to 100 people.  You can request a FREE ticket here.
