On the retirement of my father, Dr. Alan Artibise

January 30th, 2015

My father, Alan Artibise, officially retired today after a 44 year career in academia. His academic career took him from Kamloops to Victoria to Winnipeg to Vancouver to New Orleans to Phoenix, and, finally to Brownsville Texas, where he spent the past five years as Vice President and Provost of the University of Texas at Brownsville. He holds a Ph.D. from The University of British Columbia and a bachelor’s from the University of Manitoba. His areas of expertise include urban planning.

This video captures his time at UT Brownsville, and some of the wisdom he has imparted to his students—and myself—over the years.
